II. General public budget expenditures

In the first half of 2023, Shanghai’s general public budget expenditures amounted to RMB 431.42 billion, up 13.2% year on year. Expenditures have met budgetary goals better in prioritized areas such as science and technology, culture and tourism, education, resources exploration, industrial information, social security, and employment.
