In May, the local government expenditures of the Municipality amount to RMB 39.1 billion, RMB 24.72 billion or 171.9% higher than the previous year, in which the Municipal-level expenditures are RMB 17.52 billion, RMB 14.17 billion or 423.8% up from the previous year.

The local government expenditures of the Municipality on scientific and technological development, social security and employment, public health, and culture, sports and mass media grow faster than the average level. Major expenditures include special funds for industrial restructuring projects such as major scientific projects, development of animated cartoon and digital publishing, and subsidies for the improvement of the people's livelihood such as endowment insurance and medical insurance, and allowance for the needy citizens.
