In July, the local government expenditures of the Municipality amount to RMB 19.88 billion, RMB 6.2 billion or 23.8% lower than the previous year, in which the Municipal-level expenditures are RMB 6.21 billion, RMB 6.88 billion or 52.6% down from the previous year.

Of the local government expenditures of the Municipality, priority is given to growth model transformation and industrial restructuring. In July, expenditures on scientific and technological development and environment conservation increase by 278.4% and 17.2% respectively, including mainly special funding for the development of Zhangjiang High-tech Park, local supplementary funding for major national research and development projects, special funding for R&D for manufacturing equipments for very-large-scale integrated circuits, subsidies for promoting lighting products with very high energy efficiency, and funding for solid wastes treatment and urban sewage and sludge treatment.
