In July 2012, the local government expenditures of Shanghai Municipality amount to RMB 19.57 billion, up 13.3% in annual terms, or RMB 2.3 billion more than the previous year. From Jan. to July 2012, the total local government expenditures of Shanghai Municipality amount to RMB 214.11 billion, up 15.5% from the previous year, representing 53.1% of the goal for 2012.
During July 2012, budget goals for funding scientific and technological progress, public health, agricultural, forestry and water resources development have been well fulfilled, and key expenditure items include local supplementary funds earmarked for key State scientific and technological projects, funds earmarked for the three-year action plan for promoting public health, and funds earmarked for the development of modern agriculture.
