From Jan. to Sept. 2014, the local government expenditures of Shanghai Municipality amount to RMB 307.99 billion, RMB 27.64 billion more than the previous year, 9.9% up in annual terms.
During this period, efforts have been made to improve the structure of local government expenditures. On the basis of overall consideration, the government spending has focused on: 1. economic restructuring and upgrading; 2. ecological development; 3. coordinated development of the urban and rural integration and 4. social development programs, especially those involving people’s livelihood.
